How Much Does a Magician Cost in Jacksonville? 2026 Prices

Almost nobody in this business publishes prices. You call, you wait, you get a number with no way to tell whether it's fair.

Here are my actual rates, and more importantly, what makes a magician's price go up or down. Sixteen years of events in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach, and St. Augustine sit behind these numbers.

The short answer

A one-hour magic show in the Jacksonville area starts at $475 and runs to about $800, depending on who the audience is and how many of them there are. Corporate receptions of 90 minutes start at $1,075. Large events of 200 or more guests start at $2,000 for two hours.

The rest of this explains why the same hour of magic costs different amounts for different events, so you can work out roughly where yours lands before you call anyone.

What actually moves the price

Four things, in order of how much they matter.

Who the audience is. A school or daycare pays less than a private birthday party, which pays less than an adult corporate crowd. That is not arbitrary: schools book repeatedly and adult events demand a different kind of material and preparation.

How many people. Fifty guests and two hundred guests are different jobs. More guests means more sight lines to manage, more sound, and more preparation for a room I cannot work the same way.

How long. A one-hour show and a two-hour strolling set are priced separately, and longer does not scale down as far as most people expect.

Travel and setting. Anything within 30 minutes of Jacksonville carries no travel fee. Beyond that it steps up. Outdoor events carry a surcharge and require shade over the performance area.

Kids' birthday party magician cost

A one-hour interactive magic show at a private birthday party starts at $525 for under 50 total guests, $575 under 100, and $625 under 150. Count adults in that number, not just children, because everyone in the room watches.

That covers the full hour, all travel within 30 minutes, all setup, and a sponge ball souvenir for every child. Ninety minutes runs $950. Most birthday parties do not need more than an hour.

School, camp, and daycare magic show cost

One hour starts at $475 for under 50 students, $525 under 100, $575 under 150, and $675 under 200. This is the lowest tier I offer, and it stays that way deliberately: schools, camps, and daycares book year after year, and that reliability is worth a lower rate to me.

A single parent booking a party at a school does not qualify for this rate. The tier follows who is paying and how the booking repeats, not the building.

Corporate and adult event magician cost

For an adult audience, one hour starts at $575 under 50 guests and climbs to $800 under 200. Most corporate events want longer than an hour: 90 minutes runs $1,075, two hours $1,375, three hours $2,100.

Above 200 guests the event prices differently, because a room that size is a different problem: strolling magic for two hours starts at $2,000 and three hours at $2,600. Beyond three hours I quote as a custom project.

What travel adds

Measured one way from Jacksonville. Up to 30 minutes is free. Over 30 minutes adds $50, over 45 minutes $100, over an hour $150, and it continues stepping from there. Anything past 90 minutes of driving requires a two-hour minimum booking.

In practice most of Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach, Orange Park, and Fleming Island carry no travel fee at all. St. Augustine, Amelia Island, and Palm Coast usually add $50 to $150.

What a low quote usually means

You will find quotes well below these numbers. Sometimes that is a working professional with a slow month. More often it is one of three things, and all three are worth asking about directly:

  1. No liability insurance. Most venues and every corporate office require a certificate. Find that out before the day, not at the door.

  2. A part-time hobbyist with a handful of shows behind them. Fine for some events. Not fine when it is your company's one party of the year.

  3. A quote that does not include travel, setup, or materials, and grows once those appear.

Ask any entertainer for a certificate of insurance and a list of companies they have performed for. The answer arrives quickly or it does not arrive at all.

What every quote of mine includes

Travel within the fee stated, all setup and materials, full liability insurance with a certificate on request, and my arrival 90 minutes before show time so everything stands ready before your first guest walks in. No deposit is required to book, and payment is due the day of the event.

Cash, Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App carry no fee. Corporate and organization checks are welcome. Credit cards run through a Square invoice with a 3.5% processing fee.

Get an exact number

Every price above is a starting point. The real number depends on your date, your guest count, and your venue, and I quote each event individually rather than making you guess from a menu.

Send me your date, your guest count, and where you are, and I will send a written quote the same day. Call or text (904) 955-4022, or use the form below. My Google reviews hold a 5.0 rating across 130 reviews, and clients include the PGA TOUR, Mayo Clinic, Kraft Heinz, and The Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island.
